Faisal, Ph.D. is a Lektor (Assistant Professor) with a strong academic and research background in English Language Education. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in English Literature and his master’s in English Language Education from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). He completed his doctoral studies in the School of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, focusing on English teachers’ Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), particularly in teaching writing in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). His research conceptualizes EFL writing instruction as comprising knowledge of curriculum, content, learners, and pedagogy. His broader scholarly interests include teacher professional development, pedagogical assessment, EFL writing instruction, ICT integration in education, and the psychological aspects of artificial intelligence use in learning, such as AI anxiety and acceptance.
